The Global Date Protection Regulations (GDPR) launched in May 2018. The goal of GDPR is to give European citizens more control over their data. While created in Europe, it impacts all sites who have ANY European visitors. What does this mean to you? It means you need to ask permission of European followers to use things such as cookies, the technology at the core of affiliate marketing. Failure to comply with GDPR can result in a fine ranging from 10 million dollars to four percent of the company’s annual global turnover. This is a serious fine.
